Anne Redpath 1985- 1965
ARSA, RSA, RWA, ARA, OBE
Born in Galashiels and brought up in Hawick. Studied at Edinburgh College of Art under Robert Burns and henry Lintott. Redath won a scholarship in 1919 and spent a year in Florence and Siena via Bruges and Paris and then returned to Hawick. She exhibited regularly in Galleries such as Aiken Dott in Edinburgh and at Reid and Laferve in London. In 1952 she became the first woman painter to be a full member of the RSA.
