William Alfred Gibson (1866-1931) was born and lived in Glasgow. He spent ten years in the Royal Glasgow Queen’s Yeomanry. Gibson studied at The National Training College, Glasgow. He is particularly known for his Landscapes the subject of which were often Scottish or Dutch river views. Gibson exhibited at The Royal Academy, Royal Scottish Academy, The Fine Art Society, Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, Manchester City Art Gallery and many others, his works are represented in several public collections.
