Andrew Douglas
1870-1935 RSA
Born 1870 Edinburgh, he trained at the RSA Schools, moving to England , Painter of landscapes and cattle. Exhibited in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, the provinces and widely abroad. Elected A.R.S.A. 1920.
Andrew (or André as he was also known) Douglas exhibited 89 works at the Glasgow Institute, 119 at the Royal Scottish Academy, and 20 at the Royal Academy, London. He was elevated to full membership in the Royal Scottish Academy in 1933.
Examples of his work are in the collections of Paisley Art Gallery and Brodie Castle near Inverness
