Cecil Arthur Hunt
Cecil Arthur Hunt, VPRWS RBA (1873-1965)
Hunt studied at Cambridge and was called to the bar in 1899. During his career as a barrister he enjoyed his pastime as an artist which he turned to full time in 1925 at his retirement and being elected to full membership of the Royal Society of Painters in Water-Colours. He exhibited regularly at the RA, the RWS and the RBA. and had six one man shows at the Fine Art Society, 1919-1934, and one at Colnaghi in 1945. Following Hunt’s death, there was a large show at the RWS, additionally Chris Beetles held a major retrospective at his London Gallery in 1996.
