James Christie Prowett (Scottish, 1865-1946)
Painter of landscapes in both oil and watercolour in a colourist style, Prowett studied art in Paris thereafter he travelled throughout Europe before returning to his home town of Stirling.
Prowett was an active member of the Glasgow art Club, and exhibited regularly at the Glasgow Institute of fine arts.
