Jean Hamilton George

Jean Hamilton George was born in 1948 in Neath, Glamorgan. At the eraliest opporotunity she entered an art and design course at Newport College of Art, from which she emerged with a first class degree, followed by a higher
diploma from the Slade School. She turned professional in 1974, after spending several years making a living doing book illustrations. She specialises in landscape in oils and many of her paintings include rivers, of which there are many in her native Wales
