Thomas Henry Gibb
THOMAS HENRY GIBB, born c. 1833, in Alnwick, Northumberland, where he lived for the majority of his life. He was the father of the other well known artist Henry William Phelan Gibb 1870-1948. In 1881, he was listed in the census as an Artist and Bailiff of the Alnwick County Council.
Gibb exhibited in the 1880s at the Arthur Tooth Gallery, the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Hibernian Academy. He specialised in paintings of Highland lochs and lakeland scenes, often with cattle and animal paintings.
