William Darling Mackay 1844-1924 ARSA 1877, RSA 1883, President of the Scottish Arts Club 1899-1904
Born Gilfford , East Lothian he trained at the Trustees Academy. Painted rural scenes with farm workers an cattle, often working on the spot. He acted as secretary of the RSA 1906-24 and published a book the Scottish school of painting in 1906
